</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Adding injury to insult. McFadden is coming off easily the worst game (seven touches, -2 yards) of his career against what had been the league's 32nd ranked run defense. His loss will vault Michael Bush and Justin Fargas up the depth chart, but it's unclear which will start. Bush got just three carries in Week 4 to Fargas' 10. The Raiders play the Giants, Eagles, and Jets in their next three games, so no Oakland back will be a good fantasy option.

Darren McFadden - RB - Raiders Darren McFadden has yet to begin hard running and cutting since undergoing surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee over three weeks ago.
Coach Tom Cable hopes to see him return to practice during the Week 9 bye, but McFadden has been limited to treadmills and stationary bikes this week. According to beat writer Jerry McDonald, it's "no slam dunk" that McFadden will return to face the Chiefs in Week 10. October 29

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Darren McFadden (knee) is expected to return when the Raiders come out of their bye in Week 10.
McFadden practiced fully Wednesday without experiencing any setbacks. He hasn't played since Week 4 and should be close to 100 percent for a matchup with Kansas City. It's unclear if he'll immediately step into the starting lineup, but McFadden should be owned in all leagues.

He's progressing as expected and should start Sunday versus Kansas City barring in-practice setbacks. McFadden has been out since suffering a Week 4 knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery. He has a difficult stretch-run schedule after the Chiefs game, but is worth ownership in all formats.

Darren McFadden - RB - Raiders Darren McFadden is listed as probable for Week 10, but indicated that he might not start against the Chiefs as he returns from knee surgery.
"I don't know," he said. "It's a process you have to go through. You don't go to the bottom and jump right back to the top. Right now I'm just working myself back in." Expect Justin Fargas to get most of the workload on Sunday. November 13

Justin Fargas - RB - Raiders Coach Tom Cable has refused to name his starting running back and receivers for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Cable says he wants to keep the Chiefs guessing with Darren McFadden (knee) and Chaz Schilens (foot) returning from injuries. McFadden will slowly work himself back into game shape, so Justin Fargas will likely see the bulk of the work in the lowly AFC West matchup. November 14

Bush started Week 10 and had 119 yards on 14 carries against the Chiefs, but now faces the Bengals' No. 2 rush defense. This is a situation to avoid in fantasy leagues. Justin Fargas got the goal-line carries last Sunday and Darren McFadden's role figures to grow on a weekly basis as he continues to recover from in-season knee surgery. Bush is only a desperate flex play.

This whole Running back situtaion, along with the QB situation, is a complete joke........

Darren McFadden - RB - Raiders Raiders coach Tom Cable again refused to name a starting running back for Week 12 at his Wednesday press conference.
Michael Bush has started the Raiders' last two games, but got just four carries in Week 11. Darren McFadden had nine touches, while Justin Fargas got ten. This is a backfield situation to completely avoid going forward. November 25

Justin Fargas - RB - Raiders Justin Fargas (knee) was unable to practice on Wednesday.
Michael Bush could see a second straight week as Oakland's lead back if Fargas can't suit up at Cleveland. Darren McFadden would likely stay in his usual "change of pace" role should Fargas be missing from the lineup. December 23 - 4:02 p.m. ET

Fargas is unlikely to be active against the Browns, which sets up Michael Bush to dominate carries again after posting 133 yards and a TD off the bench in Week 15. The matchup is favorable and Bush can definitely play, but relying on any Raider in fantasy championships is a huge dice roll. Darren McFadden will also be involved, though probably only as a change-up back.
